ListSTAR Remote Control 1.0
The restart script illustrates how ListSTAR can administrate your Mac remotely via applescripts and e-mail. This is a simple, open-ended example which restarts your Mac. You could also have the computer toggle file-sharing, speak, or any other Apple Event aware action.
What you need
AppleScript as well as the scriptable Finder. (An install of System 7.5 or later guarantees compatibility, although System 7 Pro may work as well).
Configuring ListSTAR
Set up a "remote control" service which looks for commands in the subject of the message and include a trigger to verify that the "from" address is contained in a special administrative address list. Set the action to execute the applescript.
